Susan W. Coda Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is for any female student who qualifies and plans to attend a college or university outside the state of Utah. Applicants must be residents of the state of Utah, show proof of acceptance to a four-year college or university outside the state of Utah, have a GPA of 3.8 or higher, demonstrate leadership abilities, participate in extra-curricular school activities and be involved in community affairs. Life Lessons Scholarship
In 500 words or less or in a 3 min. video, discuss how the death of your parent or guardian affected your life financially and emotionally. Be sure to describe how the loss of your parent/guardian impacted your college plans (e.g., your ability to afford college, attend the college of your choice, etc.) Explain how the lack of adequate life insurance coverage impacted your family’s financial situation. Salt Lake Community College – Bruin Becas Funding the Dream Scholarship
The Bruin Becas Scholarship is a private scholarship made possible by generous donations from the Salt Lake Community who are dedicated to the educational success of students who are undocumented. To be eligible for this scholarship, applicant must be an undocumented student pursuing a higher education degree. An undocumented student is defined as someone who is not a citizen, permanent resident of the United States, or an international student. Must have a 2.5 GPA or higher. Application at www.slcc.edu

South High Alumni Association Scholarship
These scholarships are available to any direct descendent of a South High School alumnus who plans to attend Salt Lake Community College. The scholarships consist of half tuition per academic year, based on in-state residency. Students must carry a minimum of nine (9) credit hours each semester. Must have at least a 2.5 GPA. Scholarships are renewable for an additional year if students meet requirements during their first year. Utah State University Education Opportunity Scholarship
Qualifications include: Minimum 3.0 GPA, a minimum 21 ACT, applicants agree to use the scholarship in consecutive semesters, unless a deferment or leave of absence is requested (Military service, medical considerations, or church service). A personal essay must accompany this application with 1-2 pages, double-spaced. The essay includes:

U of U – ACCESS Program for Women in Science and Mathematics
ACCESS exists to increase the retention of women in science and mathematics. Participants attend a seven week integrated science course designed specifically for the ACCESS program during the summer before your first year at the University of Utah, which can be applied to your general education requirements. They also become familiar with College of Science faculty, facilities, staff, and their ACCESS peers. In short, the summer course establishes their academic and social support system. Must be admitted to the U of U as a matriculated (degree seeking) student. During the freshman year, each student is placed in a university research lab in the field of her choice. Create-A-Greeting Card Scholarship Contest
Applicants must be 14 years of age or older at the time of entry and a legal resident of the United States. One application allowed per person. All original artwork including but not limited to digitally uploaded images, original photographs, paintings, drawings and otherwise submitted material will not be returned to the entrant. This scholarship is in conjunction with the Keys to Success Program. High school seniors who have been awarded a Keys to Success Key Card are eligible. Seniors must qualify for minimum requirements of SLCC. Scholarship recipients must enroll in and attend at least 6 credit hours. Funds will be paid directly to the school. Scholarship monies left over from $1,000 amount will roll over into students’ next semester of school. Scholarship funds may be applied to tuition and fees. Applicants must submit a one page personal statement that states how the Keys to Success program has influenced them in driving their academic performance. Applicants must submit a one-page letter of recommendation. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Only one student will be selected from Jordan High School.

This scholarship is in conjunction with the Keys to Success Program. High school seniors who have been awarded Keys to Success Key Card are eligible. Seniors must qualify for minimum requirements of Paul Mitchell Schools. A $1,000 scholarship to Paul Mitchell Schools in Ogden, Salt Lake, and Provo will be awarded. Interested students must submit a completed application, personal statement and letter of recommendation. Scholarship recipients will be contacted by an admissions director from Paul Mitchell schools and will have a personal interview with the director. Additional scholarship details will be discussed at this interview. Applications are available in the Counseling Center.

Utah Northern Chapter Project Management Institute Scholarship (Juniors & Seniors)
The PMI Utah Northern Chapter is providing a $2,000 award to an outstanding Utah high school student who demonstrates an interest in projects. A $1,000 award and a $500 award will be given to second and third place winners. This is available to high school juniors and seniors. To be considered as a finalist, create and upload a less than 5 minute YouTube video telling a story about any project you have been involved with. Some topics you could use are: your role in the project, the project initiation, the project plan, execution or the project, how you managed issues, outcome of the project, and lessons learned. Must be available to present at the Professional Development Conference on April 25, 2018 at the Salt Palace Convention Center, SLC, UT. YouthLinc Service Scholarship
The Youthlinc Utah Young Humanitarian Award celebrates all young people; Juniors, Seniors and undergraduate college students who excel at giving back to their communities. The YouthLinc Service Scholarship offers a $5,000 college scholarship to Utah’s outstanding young humanitarian, one $3,000 runner-up award, and three “runner-up” awards of $1,000. Applicants will be judged on quality of essays and letters of recommendation, and most importantly, evidence of sustained, focused service efforts. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Utah State University offers a number of scholarships directly to students declaring majors in mathematics and statistics. The mission of DisAbility Scholarship at Microsoft is to empower and enable high schools students with disabilities to go to college. Jump$tart Coalition-Utah Scholarship
This scholarship may be used for any field of study at an accredited post-secondary institution. Six $1,250 scholarships are awarded. To be eligible applicants must: be a Utah high school senior at an accredited Utah school that has successfully completed or is currently enrolled in the financial literacy course required for graduation, plan to pursue post-secondary education, complete the FAFSA application, register for a FAFSA PIN, include proof of completing an application to a post-secondary institution and of being considered for admission, and submit required essay as specified in application criteria. T.H. Bell Teaching Incentive Loan Program
The Teaching Incentive Loan (TIL) is funded by the Utah State Legislature. TIL recipients are required to pursue an educator preparation program, obtain educator licensing, and then teach in Utah public schools for a period equal to the time they received assistance. The TIL consists of a waiver (of tuition and fees at the Utah public institutions and $995.00 per semester at private institutions) to be used for a period not exceeding 8 semesters. Eligible are Utah resident high school seniors or any junior who will have completed the requirements for an Early Graduation Program, including the ACT, during the current fiscal year. TIL recipients may attend any Utah public or private college or university of their choice. A student must complete one year of university/college before an interruption (mission, etc.) can be approved. UTAH SPORTS HALL OF FAME SCHOLARSHIP
The Utah Sports hall of Fame Foundation will award six (6) scholarships to graduating seniors of Utah high schools. Each highs school may nominate one boy and one girl.
